Frequently Asked Questions |
| |
|
| Q |
Is there any prior sailing
experience necessary? |
| |
|
| A |
No experience is necessary. You, the crew get
a chance to enjoy a sail with our certified United Coast Guard
Captain. He will be the one sailing the boat and taking care of
the many minor aspects that go into providing the crew with the
most enjoyable sailing experience! |

not including the captain, up to six people can be on board at
a time. |

|
| Q |
What are some of the necessary things I need
to bring with me? |
| |
|
| A |
We all know that Chicago is the windy city
and the weather conditions are prone to change on the lake, so
we suggest
rain coats or windbreakers, sunscreen (it is possible to burn
even on cloudy days!), hats to shield from the sun, sunglasses,
a towel,
bathing suit (if you think a swim is in order), camera, and a
change of clothes if desired. We also ask that you consider a
shoe choice
with a flat rubbery sole surface, such as gym shoes, in order
to provide you with a proper grip while aboard the yacht. Please
make
sure
that your shoes will not mark or make the boat deck dirty.
There
is a stereo on board so please feel free to bring your favorite
CD. iPods
work, too.
Make sure to pack a smile and a good sense of humor as well! |

|
| Q |
What about food and drinks? |
| |
|
| A |
Our yacht comes with a refrigerator, so if there
are any types of beverages or snacks you would like to bring, please
feel free to do so. We ask that you leave hard (plastic) coolers
at home and pack your items in a separate soft bag, which is easier
to carry and easier to store. Try to avoid bringing glass containers.
We also provide basic eating utensils such as forks, spoons, and
knives for any snacks you may choose to bring along! |

|
| Q |
Is Liquor allowed? |
| |
|
| A |
Yes, it is allowed, but please remember that
the safety of the crew and passengers comes first. Intoxicated
persons will not be allowed to board the boat, and the amount of
alcohol consumed throughout must be reasonably limited. In the
event a passenger disobeys this rule, possibly causing danger to
the rest of the persons on board, the captain holds the right to
end the voyage with no further compensation or refund.
Everyone
strives to have a good time and it is imperative that all rules
are
followed. |

Is there a bathroom on the boat? |
| |
|
| A |
Yes, there is a bathroom, as well as a shower
at the ship's swim platform. |
| |
|
| |
|
| Q |
Is it possible to get “sea sick?” |
| |
|
| A |
Unlikely, but it is possible that some passengers
may get “sea sick” due to motion of the boat. We recommend
that persons with known motion sickness consult their doctor prior
to their trip. There is no refund or further compensation for “sea
sickness.”
